Romeo’s Diary-Entry 1

Dear diary,

            I have heard that there was another fight between the families. Why is everything in life so complicated? I’ve spent most of my days now moping about Rosaline, whom doesn’t love me back. She has shut me down multiple times and I’ve done nothing but mope around. It makes me sad that there has been another fight, and Prince Escalus said himself that if he heard of another fight between the families, it would end with execution.

            I don’t know what they’re always fighting about. There’s nothing to be angry about, just sad. Life can be unfair and they should just leave it at that. Life now is a constant struggle and the feud between us and the Capulets is getting in the way our everyone’s lives and should just be forgotten about. There’s no good reason to fight anymore.
